Sign of the times . . .

I captured this on a walk today. Businesses are still on the way out. Even if the experts say the recession has hit bottom, I think we will continue to see this occur. People are still unemployed and not spending money. With a good portion of our economy dependent on consumer spending, it's understandable that business will continue to suffer and fail. As evidenced by this sign and the empty storefronts in strip malls all over town, Wall Street may be recovering, but main street is still depressed.

Hate a Programming Language?

Do you ever just hate a programming language? OK, maybe hate is a bit strong -- dislike might be better. I dislike Basic. I have from the moment I tried it. For some reason, I just don't like it. I was reminded today by a project I'm working on which requires me to use VisualBasic. I would much prefer perl or C#, but I'm stuck with VB. Don't ask me why. I really don't know. It's just something that is, not something that can be explained.
